Solayer has partnered with RWA (Real-World Assets) tokenization platform OpenEden to launch the first synthetic stablecoin backed by real-world assets, sUSD.

sUSD is the first yield-bearing stablecoin on Solana, pegged 1:1 with the U.S. dollar and supported by U.S. Treasury bonds. The issuance process is as follows:

sUSD operates using Solayer’s RFQ (Request for Quote) protocol. Users need only deposit USDC to initiate a quote in the market. The Solayer system will automatically match them with qualified tokenizing institutions. Once matched, these institutions introduce U.S. Treasury bonds onto the blockchain, generating sUSD, which Solayer refers to as a Liquid RWA Token (LRT).

The minimum threshold for users to deposit USDC is set at $5, as Solayer aims to break the barrier limiting RWA tokenization market access to large institutions alone.

Since sUSD is backed by U.S. Treasury bonds, holders of sUSD enjoy an annualized yield of 4.33%, similar to bank deposit interest. Additionally, Solayer’s SPL Token 2022 extension functionality provides sUSD with a time-based interest accrual mechanism that auto-adjusts to ensure sUSD maintains its 1:1 peg with the U.S. dollar.

The fifth issuance phase for sUSD will launch at 10:00 p.m. on October 30, with an issuance cap set at $20 million. As an event reward, users who make an initial deposit of $10,000 will enjoy a 10x yield boost. Additionally, OpenEden will provide extra rewards for users as part of this collaboration.
